OUR FAMILY

Christy Chamney

is the head coach and owner of Silver Fox. She grew up in King City and has an extensive background in horses, is a licensed & certified coach, P.C. C2 level, as well as a BA in Fine Arts and History from Nipissing University.

Christy started coaching by volunteering to coach Pony Club Prince Phillip Games 25 years ago and fell in love with teaching. She went on to coach at several facilities in both Northern and Southern Ontario.

Christy believes that teaching horseback riding should also include teaching one to be a good horse person, which means learning about how to take care of the horse as well. She also has a firm belief that a solid base of dressage makes any rider a better rider.

Christy is a NCCP certified Competition coach, and EC licensed coach.

Christy has competed in dressage, hunter, jumper and eventing. She has most recently been dabbling in western dressage, competing her mount Speakeasy at 3rd level with scores in the high 60's.
